Microneedling in Fairfax, VA
Microneedling
Microneedling in Fairfax, VA, involves creating controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface with tiny, sterile needles. This innovative Morpheus8 technique stimulates the body’s natural wound-healing process, increasing collagen and elastin production, which are essential for maintaining youthful, radiant skin. RF Microneedling is versatile and can treat a variety of areas, including the face, neck, décolletage, arms, hands, legs, abdomen, and back. Individuals seeking to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and stretch marks will benefit from this treatment.
Typically, visible improvements can be observed after just one session, with optimal results manifesting after multiple sessions. The longevity of the results varies, but with proper skincare and maintenance, benefits can last for several months. If you’re ready to rejuvenate your skin, we invite you to book an appointment at Gentle Wellness Center in Fairfax, VA.

Process
Before the start of treatment, a numbing cream will be applied over the treatment area, which takes an average of 30 minutes for the area to be numbed. Once the area has been numbed, a sterile single-use cartridge containing 14 microneedles is attached to the MicroPen EVO that will then gently glide over your skin until the entire treatment area has been covered.
The actual treatment itself typically takes between 15 to 30 minutes depending upon the size of the area.
With the MicroPen EVO being a non-invasive cosmetic procedure, there is little to no downtime: this allows patients to seek treatment every 1 to 2 months depending upon the nature of the desired results. If your goal is to resolve specific skin impurities, you may need between 3 to 6 treatments at 4-6 week intervals.
Contraindications

FAQs
Almost anyone seeking to improve their skin’s texture, tone, and overall appearance can benefit from Microneedling. However, consulting with a professional is essential to determine individual suitability.
While some individuals notice improvements after just one session, optimal results typically manifest after multiple treatments spaced several weeks apart.
The longevity of Microneedling results varies among individuals, but with proper skincare and maintenance, benefits can last for several months.
Microneedling offers minimal downtime. Post-treatment, the skin may appear red or swollen, similar to a mild sunburn, but this usually subsides within a few days.
Before the treatment, avoid sun exposure, certain medications, and skincare products that might irritate the skin. After the procedure, follow the aftercare instructions provided by your specialist, which typically include using a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and sun protection.
In order to make it more comfortable, the area of treatment is numbed with a cream. The Microneedling device is then glided over the skin, creating tiny punctures. The procedure is relatively quick, and while some mild discomfort may be felt, it’s generally well-tolerated.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
While Microneedling is suitable for various skin types, individuals with the following conditions should refrain from using the MicroPen EVO:
- Presence of active skin cancer in the targeted treatment areas
- Current use of products containing isotretinoin (like Accutane)
- Allergies to stainless steel or anesthetics
- Conditions related to hemorrhagic (bleeding) disorders or hemostatic (clotting) dysfunctions
- Open wounds, sores, or inflamed skin in the designated treatment areas
- Those who are pregnant or nursing
