Conditions Treated by VI Peel
- Fine Lines and Wrinkles: Caused by the skin's breakdown of collagen and elastin as it ages. VI Peel stimulates the production of these proteins for smoother, more youthful skin.
- Acne and Acne Scarring: Acne, marked by pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads, often leaves scars once healed. VI Peel can reduce active acne and diminish the appearance of acne scars.
- Hyperpigmentation: The darkening of an area of skin caused by increased melanin. VI Peel helps even out skin tone by reducing areas of hyperpigmentation.
- Melasma: A condition where brown patches appear on the face, often due to hormonal changes like pregnancy. VI Peel can reduce their appearance, leading to a more even skin tone.
- Rosacea: A chronic skin condition causing redness and visible blood vessels in the face. While VI Peel can't cure rosacea, it can help improve the skin's appearance by reducing redness.

FAQs
Almost anyone seeking improved skin clarity, tone, and texture is a potential candidate. A consultation at Gentle Wellness Center will determine an individual treatment plan.
Most patients observe changes within a week of treatment, with improvements progressing over the following 4-6 weeks.
With appropriate skincare and sun protection, VI Peel benefits can endure for months, though periodic maintenance treatments are essential for sustained results.
Post-treatment, some patients may encounter mild peeling and redness, but adhering to post-care guidelines is crucial to minimize side effects and improve outcomes.
Before the treatment, limit sun exposure and certain skincare products; afterward, adhere to Gentle Wellness Center’s post-care regimen, including moisturization and sun protection.
The procedure is relatively quick. A solution is applied to the skin, and while it may cause a mild tingling sensation, it’s typically well-tolerated.

Process
After the application is complete, it is common for the patient’s skin to be flushed and have a slight tanned appearance for a few days: Peeling is expected to begin within 3 days post VI Peel and expected to end by Day 7. It is extremely important to not peel or pick at the skin as this can cause adverse side effects such as irritation, scarring and/or pigmentation.
Patients who tend to have oilier skin, may experience less visible peeling which is normal due to an increase in sebum production. Once oil production recalibrates, patients may see an increase in visible peeling.

Benefits
Acne
Acne is a common inflammatory skin condition. It’s often treated with topical products or oral medication, but chemical peels may also help.
The procedure can:
- Break down comedones (clogged hair follicles)
- Decrease oil production
- Kill bacteria
- Reduce inflammation
- Increase absorption of topical treatments
Light and medium chemical peels are usually used to improve acne.
Acne Scars
As acne heals, the skin creates new collagen fibers in an attempt to repair lesions that have been created by inflamed skin.
The production of new collagen fibers can create hypertrophic scars, which are bumpy and raised, or atrophic scars, which create depressions in your skin.
A chemical peel can help by exfoliating the top skin layer, which removes excess collagen. Medium chemical peels are typically recommended for acne scars.
Aging Skin
Rosacea is an inflammatory skin condition that causes redness, swelling, and red bumps. If it also causes acne-like breakouts, it’s known as acne rosacea.
Sometimes, a chemical peel can help relieve these symptoms. It’s typically recommended for mild or moderate rosacea.
Hyperpigmentation
In addition to acne scars and age spots, chemical peels can improve other forms of hyperpigmentation, such as:
- Uneven skin tone
- Melasma
- Freckles
- Surgical scars
- Scars due to injury
- Discoloration due to sun damage
Precancerous Growths
Actinic keratoses are rough skin patches caused by years of sun exposure. They’re known as precancerous growths, since they can potentially turn into skin cancer.
A deep chemical peel can remove these growths and decrease your risk of skin cancer
Rosacea
Rosacea is an inflammatory skin condition that causes redness, swelling, and red bumps. If it also causes acne-like breakouts, it’s known as acne rosacea.
Sometimes, a chemical peel can help relieve these symptoms. It’s typically recommended for mild or moderate rosacea.
